An Unusual Side Table

January 20, 2014 by Wnolan

I wanted to share a little project that had been on my to list for awhile.  The kids had moved a children’s size piano out into the living room.  It seemed to gravitate it’s way back, every time it was moved.  I decided to incorporate it into our family room design.  It is now one of the multifunctional pieces I was talking about the other day.  Check out our unusual side table.

Here is the before:

Here are a couple in progress:

What have you accomplished off of your to do list?  Have you used an unusual piece of furniture in your home?

That is a neat idea! Does the piano actually play? Is it in tune?

Also, the color and design on it make me think of twitter.

Thanks Casi, We’ll just say it’ saw children’s toy. While it plays, it is not in tune. I looked inside it and you cannot tune it like a normal piano. So for now, they enjoy their little noisemaker!

I love the added touch of the little bird. What a conversation piece – it’s something you can use for many years to come!

Thanks Cyndi! It seemed a bit bare when I started it, so was glad I had a little bird stencil. 😉
