I finally had time to go select some of our finishes for the Tucson remodel. We have the flooring selected and ordered now. So everything needs to tie into this. It will be a bit of a challenge, because we chose travertine. This particular color way has a lot of variation between tiles. So, I will be on site during installation, handpicking the tiles and helping the installer with the placement of those tiles.
I also ordered samples for additional wall tiles, backsplashes and carpeting. Here is a taste as to what is to come. The colors are off a bit in these photos.
I found that most homes in Tucson are decorated in earth tones. Something that the rest of the US is moving away from. The browns that were so popular are being replaced with grays. So, I am trying to bridge the gap by incorporating tile with both the taupes and grays. I hope this will work to our favor when we go to sell.
I also selected a different waterline tile for the pool, because I didn’t like the ones the pool builder had available. I just want the tiles to disappear and look like water. We will have a light travertine coping and pavers around. I think the ones I found should end up just looking like water.
We found some possibilities for the cabinets and I have all the plumbing and lighting fixtures selected. Concrete will be poured for the master bedroom addition next week. Which means progress! The framers and electricians will be in within the next couple of weeks.
I’m looking forward to sharing a big update next time!
