I think I have hit the wall with the remodel. I am so anxious to get it finished, but there are some things that are just going to take some time. With an 18 month old who likes to stick her hand in wet paint, I have limited time to get some things done. There are days I feel like my to do list increases instead of decreasing.
Have you ever checked out Pinterest and typed in to do lists? I did today. I think to make myself feel better. What amazed me was just how many people had boards titled “to do”. The range of their to do lists was pretty outstanding too. There were crafts, recipes, travel…you get the picture.
Today I have decided to share with you some of my projects that are part remodel and part hobby and part decorating.
This is a project I am just sharing a preview of. I am excited to get this one done. It is on my calendar to be finished soon. Hmmm…what could it be?!
Then we have just simple to do list items, such as hanging drapes and pictures. I have failed to hang my pictures, because I haven’t spent time to decide where exactly I want the furniture. Once I am happy with furniture arrangement, pictures can be hung. Drapes on the other hand are easy. I know where they go. So maybe today is the day they get hung?
Sometimes, I feel like my projects really halt our unpacking. I have two boxes of china in the kitchen because I have not finished this project. I finished the bottom of this china cabinet and I love it. I have yet to finish the top. I changed my mind on the color I was going to originally paint the interior. So, I have been deciding between paint color and/or another treatment. I probably just need to sit down and give it some thought.
The kids have been having fun with this little piano. I had originally just planned on putting it in their room and not touching it. But it seems to have made it’s way to the living room. It got me thinking, I could do some sort of treatment and use it as an end table. That way it is accessible for the kids to play on it without having to drag it out. Isn’t it cute?
Then there is this mini desk I picked up before leaving Texas. My mom had bought one for the kids room at her house. The kids loved it and I thought it was pretty adorable too. I have three kids laying claim on it…I just have to decide where it is going to look the best. That will determine what happens to it. See how they are enthralled with it and why my to do list just grows and grows?
Then there is all of the built in cabinetry we have installed. Thankfully, I was able to cross off all of the cabinet assembly off of my to do list, but I still need to get the doors painted. My husband is planning something special for this top in our office. Just wait and see!
Are you feeling sorry for me yet?! I just know when I get these things marked off of the list I will be so happy. Some of them have been time consuming, while others just need a bit of brain power for me to finish them. I have committed myself to doing at least one thing a day to get things done.
Maybe I will be able to cross of the morning dishes off of my to do list right now.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by your to do lists? What kinds of things do you do to accomplish them or stay on track?

Can I just admit how comforting it is to get a peek at your to-do list?! 🙂 I have one that never ends, too.

I figure most people’s lists are like ours! You know what’S sad? That’s not even half of it!

I have to-do lists that stretch back to the Paleozoic era. Especially embarrassing is our cabinet full of crafting supplies. We don’t have to dig much before the ghosts of unfinished crafts projects past, present and Someday start to haunt us. It is, as Jeanine says, comforting to know I’m not alone in this!

Theresa, You are making me feel better about my craft supplies! I was organizing them the other day. I have tools in there I have never used. Augh.
We just need to stand united in our to do lists!

Ha! I can so relate. Minus the little kids. We have a big empty house here that we plan to remodel. I have all of the stuff I need to complete the one guest room, I just need to do it. It has a wallpaper border and I’ve never removed wallpaper so the thought of that stops me. It also has popcorn ceilings I want to remove. And after looking at Youtube, I honestly think I can do it. I would probably be better of writing it on a list because I LOVE to cross things off! 🙂

Lauri, I’m with ya on the lists! Hopefully, the wallpaper will come off easily for you. Just in case it’s stuck well, just spray it with fabric softener. Removing popcorn is super easy, but messy. We just sprayed it with water and too a drywall knife and it came off with no work on our part.
Good luck with your remodel. Make sure to post before/after pictures. We all love those!
