Unfortunately, my husband has been getting to do all of the demo. With us being new in town, and no reliable baby sitters, I get to stay at home with the kids, while Alan has all the fun! If you ask him, though, I don’t think he considers it fun!
This is looking towards the old kitchen. See how tiny it was?
The Tucson house had soffits galore. Something we really did not like. Coming from a house that had 14 foot ceilings in the main area, seven foot soffits really felt low. So, we came up with a solution for the HVAC that allowed us to get rid of all the soffits. Yay! See this post for a picture of the soffits. The picture below is taken from the same place…notice the soffits? GONE!
After Alan had been working, I stopped in the see the progress. Even though the demo is not done completely, the volume of space has changed drastically. It has a roomy, airy feel. I am so excited! My goal with this house is that the first thing you notice when you walk through the doors is the view. We are getting one step closer!
You can’t see the views from this picture, but will once the wall is gone.
Today the HVAC continue their work and the plumber starts today. Which means we are one step closer to a new kitchen! What do you think? Has anyone lived in a house you were remodeling? We will be moving in around the middle of October. Anyone have any tips for us?
