From the first day I purchased this stool, I intended on recovering it. Other things came up and my little stool kept getting pushed back farther on my priority list. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I bought this eight years ago! Well, the day has finally come. Today that little stool got painted and recovered!
I am so excited that it is done, so I had to share it with you!
I painted the stool a creamy white to update it a bit.
You want to know a little secret. I picked this up from Wal-Mart for under $30! It was supposed to be an interim piece of furniture, till I found an ottoman I wanted. You guessed it…still haven’t found that ottoman. The adults don’t use it much anymore. The kids love it because it’s just their size and there is another secret about this stool. The top lifts up, so they store their “treasures” in it.
So there you have it, my painted stool. Have you ever considered painted a piece of furniture you hadn’t intended to? Did you buy an interim piece to get you by, until you found what you wanted?

Well worth the wait! I love the blue pattern, Wendy. You’ve inspired me to get moving on a couple projects I’ve been “meaning to get to.” 🙂

It’s beautiful!! Wow, what a great piece of furniture and you got such a good deal on it.

hi Jeanine! I’m amazed it has held up…even with three kids!

I haven’t done any “furniture makeovers” in many years. I pinned your stool on my “My Style” Pinterest board- you did a nice job in making it bright – the fabric pattern is so pretty, too. Maybe in my retirement years!
wn says
Thanks for pinning it! You know what they say about retirement…you’ll be busier than ever!

That stool is so cute – one would never know…it takes imagination to see beyond the surface – great job.

Thanks Cyndi! We are enjoying the new version!
