We have complete the pool and have gotten to use it the past couple of days. With it’s completion, I have been brainstorming what vignettes I want to do around the pool and the patio. The pool is surrounded by travertine pavers, so it definitely needs to be softened by furnishings, accessories and plants!
Focusing on the backyard this week, led me to Vignettes out of San Diego. Recently, they shared a secret garden project that they just completed. Talk about amazing and inspiring! They have graciously allowed me to share some pictures with you. Make sure to check them out for more inspiration.
They have touched on all of the elements we have been speaking about. Notice the texture from the basket, moss and table. It is in contrast to the slipcovered chairs and grain sack placed on the table as a runner. There is lots of life represented by the ivy and flowers. The surprise by the use of chandeliers adds great sparkle. I love this whole patio area. It makes me want to find a seat and take everything in.
The potted citrus are a nice touch. Now, to find a way to keep them alive surrounding our pool! I might have to settle for cactus. This vignette could really be used anywhere throughout a garden.
Lounge chairs are definitely on our list to find. Although, I think the bottles of wine are the best touch! Doesn’t that sound good…sitting by the pool, with a glass of wine? For me, you would have to add an umbrella for shade!
A big thanks to Vignettes for letting me share your photos today. I hope you are inspired and are starting to be able to translate some of the elements/guidelines we have been reviewing.
What unusual things are you doing in your garden this summer? Can you see yourself making a vignette to place in it?
Now is your chance to share what you have been working on! Please forward this linkup to your friends. The more linkups = more inspiration!

Thank you for the beautiful Vignette photos you shared. I worked on my deck all week-end, too and there are so many amazing things we can do to make our retreats relaxing and beautiful.
Also, thanks for the heads up about your first link party. Yeah!! Good luck. I shared two posts today. I need to remember to do this again. Hope you are doing great!! x Dana
