Kids DIY Valentine

January 9, 2014 by Wnolan

I was sorting through pictures the other day and came across a project from last February.  It got me thinking that we are close to Valentines day!  I figured I would post our DIY Valentine.

Last year, I wanted to do something different for middle son’s Valentine cards.  Instead of getting a box of the cheapo Valentines, that really ARE expensive considering what is in that box, I went to the Dollar Store and picked up some balloons.  We made our own Valentines

I found a free printable and decided to dress it up a bit.

The printable all spruced up…

We attached the printable to the balloon string, and they were ready for delivery!  As middle son would say, “easy peasy!”

Middle son was so excited to hand these out!  Boy were his friends thrilled to get a balloon.  I think the parents were secretly happy to see their kids not to get a bunch of junk…maybe not so excited about a balloon that lasts for weeks on end, though!

We had lots of fun making these DIY Valentines.  What kinds of things do you do for Valentines day?

That’s really cute! I don’t have a huge pool of people I need to make Valentines for, like an entire classroom, so I have the time to make personalized cards for my family and close friends, which I really enjoy. I try to include an inside joke or shared interest if I can.

Sonya, That is sweet that you still take the time to make cards for your family and friends! I bet they really appreciate them.

What a wonderful and cool idea. So creative and I am sure every child that got one loved them as well!

Hello Ray, Thanks! The kids loved them, I bet their parents wanted to kill me two weeks later, though!
