Almost 20 years ago, I remember having a conversation with a friend, who was car salesman, about the color green. He was convinced that the color green was a fad. I disagreed with him, telling him all the ways green had been in the picture.
If you look through our interiors history you will find mint green in the ‘50’s, aqua green in the ‘60’s, avocado green of the ‘70’s, hunter green in the ‘80’s, sage green in the ‘90. Today, we are seeing all these shades of greens and more.

This is probably the most recent green, a nice fresh one from the Jonathan Adler line.
There is a big trend to with what I call the spa colors. The sea greens and blues. But recently, we have seen the jewel tones returning. Remember Pantone’s color of the year last year? Emerald? I have also noticed the Navy and Royal Blues paired with whites and pops of green that lean towards the lime and earthier greens (not quite avocado, but close!).
Looking through our design history shows us that green has always been there. Personally, I think it’s here to stay. We will always see it in one variation or another.
