I thought you all might like to see some things I have been working on. This is a typical suburban house that could really be located anywhere. It is a large home with warm oak floors and beige walls. The clients felt like the home was a sea of builders beige.
The existing wall color worked with the flooring and cabinetry, so I decided to build upon those fixed items. The only other thing they said they would like to keep was the rug. It was great starting point, which helped to provide a rich color palette of gold, beiges and blacks. To bring the scheme into the current interior color trends, I added the blue/green accent pieces. Which also gave some unexpected color and interest into the room.
I love this charcoal color scheme with the play of warm golds, contrasted with black and a surprise color of blue/green. I could see anyone relaxing and reading a book in this space. (It doesn’t hurt to have a great Chesterfield sofa in the space either!)
What have you done to bring your beige rooms into the new cooler color trends?
