Backyard Patio

April 2, 2014 by Wnolan

With pool season fast approaching, we have had to move some of our energy outside.  In the renovation, we extended the covered patio 11’ doubling it in size.  After experiencing our first winter here, I am so glad we did.  It is pretty much year round living here, so extending it gives us additional shade during summer months and lots of extra living space.

The backyard patio slab has been poured and is ready for tile. The privacy wall is under construction and we will stucco it to match the house.

So this past week, the patio was getting prepped for tile, with additional concrete slab being the first step.  Yesterday was the pour day.  It’s so fun to see the extra space and an extra set of stairs that access another part of the back yard.  It’s not to the pretty stage yet, but hopefully we will be there soon!

A set of side stairs accesses a different part of the backyard.

Retaining walls are getting ready for privacy walls and wrought iron fencing.  We made the back patio private by adding a wall and a solid fence.

The pool is scheduled to be finished in a month.  We are so excited!

I am so ready to get the backyard patio finished!  I may have bought some flowers for the flower beds and the planters before we were really ready for them.

What kind of things do you do to get your patio ready for summer?
