After decorating two boys’ rooms, it was so much fun to go girly! I had to reign myself in and not try to incorporate too much into the space…there were so many cute things I wanted to include!
Prints on antique book paper. Resin frames painted for a pop of color.
My mom made all the bedding and drapes (in fact she has made the bedding for all of the kids & boy do the sheets last!) See those sheets on the crib mattress below? Those are from oldest son! They still look brand new. I’m sure she wasn’t too excited when I asked her to make a ruffled crib skirt too. Neither of us have a serger. She mentioned it was like making four skirts. Thanks mom!
The last layer of ruffles is attached with velcro, so it can be removed as the crib mattress is lowered.
I really loved having baby girl’s room upstairs. She was away from the boys’ rooms (read noise!). The slanted ceiling with the dormers gave her room and the tv room such a cozy feel.
Birds and butterfly theme.
One of my favorite things? The knobs on the dresser! They are just so girly. I really like how the antiquing wax accentuated all of the grooves and details on the dresser. Here is a post where I described my experience painting baby girl’s furniture.
Rocker placed in the dormer window for a cozy ready nook.
The rocker was my grandmother’s rocker and was given to me when I was a child. I have an old photo of my grandmother, probably 18 months, having a tea party with her teddy bear in this rocker. I love being able to pass on family pieces to our kids.

Thank you! I had fun doing it. (I had been checking out little girl stuff for eight years!) Ha, ha!
