509 Design LLC is owned and operated by Wendy Nolan and her husband, Alan Nolan. With well over 20 years as an interior designer, Wendy leads a team of expert designers, artisans, and tradespeople who all have one goal in mind: creating an inviting and refreshing environment for your home or office.
Wendy Nolan
Interior Design Principal
Wendy has over 25 years of experience as an NCIDQ Interior Designer, helping her clients achieve their home renovation and decorating goals. She spends much time staying up on trends and attending industry shows throughout the year. She is a lifelong student of Interior Design. 509 Design LLC is the only firm in the Spokane and North Idaho regions that offers a variety of services to meet everyone’s budget. Wendy is a military spouse who returned home after exploring the world and seeing the different styles and clients each new location brought. She is proud of her Inland Northwest business and loves raising her children along with her husband in this beautiful part of the country.
Alan Nolan
Vice President, Construction Division
Alan moved to the Spokane area after retiring from a 22-year career as an officer and pilot in the United States Air Force. During their various military assignments around the country and the world, Alan and Wendy often renovated the homes they lived in, leading to an interest in the construction industry following active duty service.
Since helping Wendy open 509 Design, Alan has built broad expertise in residential and commercial remodeling as well as new residential construction, the latter of which led to his appointment as Builder Member for the Technical Advisory Group for revision of the residential Washington State Energy Code. Additionally, Alan is a RESNET certified Home Energy Rater (HERS), consulting with builders on energy and cost-efficient construction techniques, and serves as an officer on the Spokane Home Builder’s Association Board of Directors
Sophia Ullman
Interior Designer
Sophia is a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and a minor in Business Administration. Sophia brings her technical CAD ability and fuses it with her passion for interior design to create functional and stunning interiors. She continues to expand her professional development by attending local networking events and Spokane Homebuilders Association functions. In her free time, she enjoys photography, and spending time with friends and family.
Carsten Rabenberg
Construction Division
Carsten is a skilled craftsman, eager to continue to learn as much about the building industry as possible. In addition to his interest in building, he enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities.
Kirstin Davies
Organization Specialist
One of many of Kirstin's joys is a well-organized space. She maintains the 509 Design Library, keeping the interior designers in line. She also provides plans and implements procedures for clients to ensure their new space is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside. When she is not working on leaving a perfectly organized space, she relishes her time with her young grandchildren.
